and 2000 IU. Both loading and maintenance doses may be folds higher to in thosewith increasing risks for the development or recurrence of vitamin D deficiency. Concurrent calcium supplementation is a key component of effective therapy, and a preventative strategy should always address underlying causes, if possible. In addition to maintaining sufficient serum 25-OH D levels, patients with end-stage renal and/or hepatic disease impairing vitamin D activation and resulting in hypocalcaemia, in addition to those with secondary hyperparathyroidism or hypoparathyroidism require activated vitamin D therapy (e.g. 1, 25-OH D2; 0.25– 0.5 mg/day). Patients with granulomatous disorders and dysregulated 1, 25-OH D2 activity may require vitamin D replacement, but 25-OH D levels .30 ng/mL can worsen the associated hypercalcaemia. Therefore, careful monitoring of vitamin D status, serum, and urinary calcium is necessary in these patients. Conclusion

Dysphagia due to aortic diverticulum: an adult surgical case.

A right aortic arch is an anatomic variant only occurring in approximately 0.1% of the population. A mirror-image right artic arch without congenital cardiac anomaly is fairly uncommon. We report on a rare case of dysphagia due to isolated aortic diverticulum in a mirror-image right aortic arch. A 72-year-old man presented with dysphagia which was due to posterior compression of the esophagus b...

A Retroesophageal Right Subclavian Artery as the Last Branch of the Aortic Arch- In Vivo Case Report

Three major arteries normally originate from the aortic arch. Variations of the aortic arch branches are observed in some cases. Rare variation of the aortic arch branches is originated from the retroesophageal right subclavian (RRS) artery as the last branch of the aortic arch. Variation of artery is possibly associated with the variation of the recurrent laryngeal nerve. This research p...

Three Cases of a Rare Association: Double Aortic Arch

Background Vascular ring is less than 1% of congenital heart disease. Double aortic arch (DAA) is the most common form of it.  Its detecting is important because of the effects of pressure on the esophagus and trachea. Case Report In this study, three children suffering from double aortic arch with symptoms of dysphagia and recurrent aspiration, which in two cases had led to cardiac arrest, wer...

A Rare Case of Esophageal Dysphagia in Children: Aberrant Right Subclavian Artery

Dysphagia is an impairment of swallowing that may involve any structures from the mouth to the stomach. Esophageal dysphagia presents with the sensation of food sticking, pain with swallowing, substernal pressure, or chronic heartburn. There are many causes of esophageal dysphagia, such as motility disorders and mechanical and inflammatory diseases. Infrequently dysphagia arises from extrinsic ...

Right Aortic Arch With Kommerell Diverticulum: A Rare Cause of Dysphagia.

IMPORTANCE Dysphagia is a common condition with multiple causes. Fortunately, a thorough evaluation will often lead to a correct diagnosis, even when the cause is a rare entity. A right aortic arch with associated aberrant left subclavian artery is an uncommon anatomical variant. Physicians involved in the management of dysphagia should be aware of vascular anomalies that can cause dysphagia. ...

A Rare Variation of Right Subclavian Artery Origin from Posterior Surface of Aortic Arch

Purpose: Several variations of aortic arch have been reported yet. In present study another variation of aortic arch was reported. Right subclavian artery arises from posterior surface of the distal end of the aortic arch. Case Report: we present a variation of an aorticarch in which right subclavian artery arisesfrom posterior surface of the distal end of the aortic arch and passing behind eso...
